• " What is Islam ??? "
• Islam is a religion that teaches belief in one God, namely Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala , as well as following the teachings contained in the holy book Al-Qur'an. Muslims practice rituals of worship, obey sharia law, and respect values ​​such as justice, equality, and compassion for others. Islam is not only a religion, but also includes a view of life that regulates various aspects of human life, from spirituality to social and legal aspects.

Islam is not only a religion, but also includes a view of life that regulates various aspects of human life, from spirituality to social and legal aspects.

 Apart from religious teachings, Islam also teaches social values ​​that encourage justice, togetherness and concern for others. These principles are reflected in the daily practices of Muslims, such as giving zakat to help those in need, encouraging equality before the law, and prioritizing moral and ethical values ​​in social interactions. Islam also pays attention to the relationship between humans and the environment and emphasizes the importance of protecting nature.

 Islam also teaches the importance of education, knowledge and research.  The development of knowledge, skills and wisdom is considered important in Islam to increase understanding of the world and to improve human life.  The concept of science in Islam provides the basis for scientific developments in the past and present.

 Islam also emphasizes the importance of tolerance, peace and harmony between religious believers.  Despite having a strong belief in its teachings, Islam teaches respect for diversity of beliefs and cultures and encourages interfaith dialogue in order to create a society of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.  This is in accordance with the Islamic concept of compassion, forgiveness and peace in human relations.

 In its teachings, Islam underlines the importance of social and economic justice.  The concept of distributing wealth, protecting the weak, and setting up a just economic system is an important part of the Islamic view of human social and economic life.  This principle is reflected in zakat regulations, the sharia financial system, and the emphasis on equality in rights and treatment.

 Apart from that, Islam also has a deep view of family and community life. The family is considered the main foundation in Islamic society, with values ​​such as respect for parents, responsibility in educating children, and fair treatment of family members being highly emphasized. This concept is reflected in teachings about marriage, family rights, and social responsibility in helping fellow members of society.

 Apart from the aspects that have been mentioned, Islam also provides guidelines on how to think, behave and live daily life by providing moral and ethical values ​​that form the basis for its followers. Concepts such as honesty, patience, respect, and responsibility are presented as guides for individuals to live meaningful and meaningful lives in their communities.

 Islam also emphasizes the important role of individuals in building a just and harmonious society. Every individual is expected to contribute to improving social conditions, upholding justice, and fighting for human rights. This thinking builds awareness of social responsibility in creating a sustainable and better environment for all mankind.

 Islam also emphasizes the importance of generosity, both in terms of providing assistance to those in need and in sharing good fortune with others. The concept of voluntary giving and sharing wealth with others, whether through zakat, alms, or other voluntary acts, is an important part of the social values ​​in Islam that demonstrate concern for the common good.

 In its social values, Islam also teaches the importance of respecting individual rights, including the rights of women, children and vulnerable people. The principle of equality in terms of rights and treatment is emphasized in Islamic teachings, emphasizing the need to protect individual rights and provide fair and equal treatment for all regardless of gender, age or other background.

 Islam also emphasizes the importance of protecting the environment. Caring for nature, cleanliness and wise use of natural resources are part of Islamic teachings. Muslims are invited to become guardians of nature, maintain ecological balance, and use natural resources responsibly to pass them on to future generations.

 In its teachings, Islam encourages its followers to live in peace and avoid acts of violence. Although there are different understandings among its adherents, Islam teaches peace as its main principle, emphasizing the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and rejecting all forms of violence or extremism that conflict with the teachings of this religion.

 There is a concept of Jihad in Islam that is often MISUNDERSTANDED. Jihad is actually " MORE THAN JUST WAR OR PHYSICAL CONFLICT ". In the context of Islamic teachings, jihad also includes "inner (soul) struggle to improve oneself, do good, and fight for justice and goodness in everyday life". Jihad in this context is an effort to overcome obstacles in achieving goodness and sacrifice for true and good principles.

 In addition, in Islam, jihad can also refer to " Active efforts to defend oneself or defend the rights of those THREATENED or COLONIZED ", with the note that this action must be carried out with regulated war ethics and only in situations that truly require defense self or protection of the weak. This principle emphasizes that acts of war or defense must be proportional and carried out for the right purposes in the context of justice and goodness.

 Apart from that, Islam also upholds the principle of peace as its ultimate goal. All jihad teachings, both spiritual and physical, are directed at maintaining peace, justice and prosperity for all. Peace is considered the main goal that must be pursued, and every action, including in the context of jihad, must aim at upholding that peace.

 It is important to note that these principles of Islamic teachings vary greatly in interpretation and practice throughout the world, and Muslims have great diversity in their views on various aspects of the religion's teachings. However, basic values ​​such as peace, justice, brotherhood and social responsibility remain at the core of the meaning of Islam for many of its followers around the world.

 Different aspects of interpretation and practice among Muslims show the diversity and richness of understanding of the teachings of this religion. However, similarities in universal values ​​such as compassion, justice, willingness to share, and concern for others remain the core that binds Muslims from various backgrounds and cultures. This diversity enriches understanding of Islamic teachings and how they are applied in everyday life.

This diversity also enriches intercultural and interfaith dialogue, enabling mutual understanding and respect for differences. Learning and experience from various Islamic traditions in various parts of the world provide rich insight into universal human values, which can be applied in efforts to build a more inclusive, tolerant and just society for all.
